GM Design SEMA Camaro Winners List
The 2010 Camaro is one of the hottest cars on the scene right now and one that no doubt will be the “it” car at this year’s SEMA Show. Now while anyone can head down to the showroom floor of their local Chevy dealer and pick one of these bad boys up, only a very select few individuals will be chosen by the GM Design Team to build a custom Camaro on behalf of General Motors. In total, eight Camaros will be delivered to the designers that won the design contest with a mix of V6 and V8 model renderings being selected.
The GM Design team is careful to provide an eclectic mix of Camaro concepts come SEMA time so the winners selected are from across all genres of automotive design and cultures. Those same folks at GM Design also like to make designers sweat a little and are only giving the lucky winners a total of eight weeks to complete their dream Camaro. All winning vehicles will be any combination of boosted, painted and lowered and will be equipped with new sets of wheels, brakes, speakers and interior accoutrements. So when the doors at the 2010 SEMA Show open, there should be a Camaro flavored for everyone’s tastes out on the floor.
GMTS friend and acclaimed car designer Neil Tjin was selected to receive one of the eight Camaros. This shouldn’t come as a surprise seeing how Neil has built some of the hottest GM-based creations over the past few years with his “Tjin Edition” Cobalt, Solstice and G8 GT. The new Tjin Edition Camaro will also be featured on the 2010 Tjin Edition Tour after its SEMA debut. Other Camaros going on tour after the SEMA show will be Rick Bottom’s Camaro which will be joining the Eclipse tour and Nick Ashby’s Camaro that will be loaded onto the National Guard tour.
As we draw ever closer to this year’s show, we’ll release the renderings of the winners proposed designs also. For the full rundown of Camaro winners, see below:

38 days and counting until yours truly will be a daddy, Mei will be a mommy, The Gene will be an uncle, Joann will be an aunt, Hayley and Hunter will have a new friend to play with, Ernie, Asia, and Buster will have a baby brother, and Collin Samuel Tjin will be ready to take on the world, dunk a basketball, and help finish the G35 for next years Ridler competition.
Last week Mei and I went for our second 3D/4D ultrasound and Baby Collin is packing some serious cheek action, he most definitely has slanted / squinty eyes, and most importantly he is looking good and healthy.

The Tres Amigo’s
My three babies, Ernie (Ernbo), Asia (Asia Minor), and Buster (Busta Bust).
Ernbo (the Chihuahua) is our oldest (5 years), Asia Minor (the black and white Frenchie) is our second in command (3 years old), and Busta Bust (the big boy Frenchie) is the baby of the bunch (2 years old), both literally and figuratively.
These guys are my life, and they are such a blessing from God. They will be Baby Collin’s side kicks, and bodyguards for many many years to come.

Cutting Down Some More Tree’s
The Tjin Edition / ICE Nissan Skyline R34 Sedan has got its fair share of press over the past three years, and this past month we received three more magazines showcasing the beast. The Gene shot the Skyline before it left on Tour this year, and his photos ended up in the latest issue of Banzai Magazine, Autoweek 50th Anniversary Issue, and Luxury Auto Direct Magazine. Sorry to all the trees that have been cut down because of this car, it’s not our fault.
As many of you know I used to drink about 100 cans of Pepsi a day. Those days have come and gone and now I consume about 100 cans or bottles of NOS Energy Drinks. Even though we have a wide variety of NOS Energy Drinks to choose from, including grape, fruit punch and mango passion, I am a huge fan of the stuff in the blue bottle (mango passion).

From TSW’s to One Lug Wheels
I have always been a huge fan of high-end wheels. Wheels that were different, hard to find, and most importantly custom built for our cars. In the mid 90’s I got my first set of wheels, TSW Stealths, then I moved onto a set of Club Lineas, and then onto a set of VeilSide Andrew Racing Mesh. After rocking the Andrew Racing Mesh for a few years, it was time for our first set of Advan’s. In ‘97 we ordered a set of 19″ Advan Sienna Generation II’s and a set of Advan Model 6’s. These were some of the first Advan wheels in the US and we all know what happened after that.
After we moved to SoCal in 2003 we teamed up with the fine folks at HRE Wheels. In the two years that followed we did close to 20 project cars with them. It all started with the Turtle Wax Nissan 240sx and ended with our Chevy Cobalt SS.
After the 2007 SEMA show we teamed up with a brand new wheel company called One Lug Wheels. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to do a Tjin Edition car with one lug wheels. As soon as I found out about One Lug Wheels I was sold. Not only do their wheels feature the one lug conversion, but they have incredibly sexy styles, and all their wheels are three-piece and custom built for your car.
For the 2008 Tjin Edition Tour we redid our Skyline, Cobalt, and Solstice with One Lug Wheels, and now we are working on a Pontiac G8 CST for Pontiac (to debut at the SEMA show) which will be rocking a custom set of fully polished One Lug Wheels.

Bun in the Oven
Who stole the watermelon? Between the wifey and myself we have heard them all over the past eight months.
Call the presses, the news is out, Mei’s belly is carrying our baby boy, Collin Samuel Tjin.
No matter what Adam says, she is prego and carrying my little boy.
We are getting closer and closer by the day, and Mei is coming up to 35 weeks.

Love you babies!
A few weeks ago I got a call from our friends at Honda North America. They were very pleased with what we had done with our ‘07 Fit and asked if we would be interested in doing a brand new ‘09 Fit. After discussing this with Mei and Gene, we decided to take on this project for Honda.
A few days later I received word from General Motors that we had been selected to design and build a brand new ‘09 Pontiac G8 GT. This would be the third car for General Motors, so we were stoked, and not to mention the second for Honda.
After getting the news from GM, I sat down with Gene and Mei and we decided that in the best interest of both projects that I would tackle the G8 GT and Gene would take on the Fit.
Without giving away to much about these two projects, here are a few photos of The Gene’s 2009 Honda Fit.
Both the Tjin Edition Fit and G8 will be debuting at this years SEMA show, so stay tuned for updates as we get closer to the show.

Theory Goes West
Check out my office inside the Theory West Coast office.
Things are always hectic around the Theory office’s, and I am doing my best to get settled in.
SEMA is quickly approaching, as is baby Collin, so the next few weeks will be pretty wild and insane for yours truly.
This past weekend D-White took our toys to the 1st Annual Marysville Car Show and Festival.
On display were the ICE Skyline, Turtle Wax Cobalt SS, and NOS Energy Drink Civic

As many of you know we are working on a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT (known as the Tjin Edition / Mobil 1 Pontiac G8 CST).
Before we stared on this project for GM, we had Steven Hasegawa from our creative team come up with a few different renderings for us to evaluate.
Here are the three different versions that we came up with….which did we go with? Only time will tell.

Baby Collin’s New Room Phase #1
This past weekend Gene, Adam, Mei, Hayley, Hunter, Ernie, Asia, Buster and yours truly started working on Baby Collin’s room.
We started by cleaning up the room and laying down the first coast of paint.
We have one more coat of paint to apply, paint the doors, do some cool graphics, build all his furniture, and mount and hook-up his 60″ Plasma!

Happy 26th Bday to Me!!!!
Thank you to everyone who has called, texted and aimed me today.
I can’t believe I am 26, I mean 30 already, boy time does fly when you are having fun.
Today I received three amazing surprises.
1) Mei and I went to to doctor to check on baby Collin and everything is looking great on the baby front. Collin currently weighs 5lbs 15ounces and his heart beat was at 135 beats per minute. Collin will be making his debut to the world in a few short weeks. 4.5 weeks and counting!
2) Mei got me LAKER tickets to watch Kobe duel it out with Lebron at the Staple Center!!!! I had no clue what she was getting me, as she did her best to keep it a secret. When I saw the envelope on my desk, I tried guess for all of about 30 seconds and then I decided to open it up, and what am amazing surprise. Mei knows me better then I know myself, as I didn’t even know what I wanted for my 30th Bday, but she surely did!!!!!
3) And from The Gene I got something that I have needed for a while, and no I am not talking about a growth spurt, but what I am talking about is a new wallet. Sitting on my desk was a TOD’S bag, containing the sickest TOD’S wallet ever. Gene had asked me a few days ago what I wanted for my Bday and of course he stepped up to the plate and found what I was looking for.
Thank you Lord for a healthy baby boy, Mei for getting me tickets to see Kobe take on Lebron, and Gene for a wallet that will be empty about 99% of the time (but it will look great when I pull it out to use my credit card).

I just got our Pontiac G8 CS-Tjin back from the fine folks at Webasto Sunroofs.
They installed their new Hollandia TVS 900 twin vent sunroof into our G8 CS-Tjin.
I have always been a huge fan of sunroofs, and this piece is top notch.

Yummy One Lug Wheel
This past weekend the guys from One Lug Wheels had a chance to reassemble our fully polished One Lug Wheels for our Pontiac G8 CST SEMA project.
Once the guys from Unique finish installing the custom Corvette Z06 big brake calipers and rotors, we will install these custom 20″ One Lug Wheels.

Funnnnnnnnel Cake
This past weekend Gene and I went to the FMX World Championships at the Pomona Fairplex. The event was held in conjunction with the LA County Fair, so before we left the event we stopped by to pick up a gigantic funnel cake.
As you can tell by the expression on my face, their aren’t many things that make me happier then a huge funnel cake covered with a boatload of powdered sugar!
Mei and I stopped by the Audi dealer today to check out the brand new 2009 Audi A4 Avant Wagon. We ordered one a few weeks ago, and it was cool to see the car in person. It is completely redone and changed from the previous model. We will be getting a white one with all black interior on November 17th. Here are some pics of one of the first A4 Avant Wagons to hit SoCal.

Lovin the all black…
The guys from One Lug Wheels just built a custom set of 19×12″ and 19×13″ OLW-5 wheels for a wide body R33 Skyline. The front wheels have a massive 5″ lip and the rears are even wider with a 5.5″ lip. The centers are done in a matt black finish, while the outer and inner lips are done in a gloss black finish. All the hardware including the bolts and center nut are doing in a gold cadmium finish. Even though these insane wheels aren’t for one of my personal projects, I wanted to share them with you guys.

We are Truly Blessed
Mei and I would like to welcome baby Collin Samuel Tjin into the world.
Our baby boy Collin was born on October 7th, 2008 at 8:54pm at Mission Hospital in SoCal.
He weighed 7lbs 11ounces and was 18inches tall, making him 2inches taller then Uncle Jason and half a inch taller then Uncle Fortune.
He also came out into the world swinging as he peed on both of the nurses as soon as they put him on the table to check out his vital signs (that’s my boy).
We have had plenty of visitors including Hayley (who was great with him btw), Hunter, Sarah, Adam, Mei’s co-works and of course Uncle Gene (who is going to be the greatest uncle in the world). Gene has been by everyday to bring us dinner and to check up on his nephew.
I just stopped home for the first time since Tuesday to make sure that everything is ready for mommy and Collin when they come home tomorrow.
I couldn’t resist updating my blog and putting some pictures of our little Asian sensation on my myspace page, plus I was sick of sending people to Gene’s blog.

Time to make some room…
The time has come for me to part ways with two of my favorite cars. I am putting my 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS and 2006 Pontiac Solstice up for sale. I need to make room for the G8, G35, Skyline and Audi A4 Wagon.

Adam and the guys at Unique have been working on finishing the audio video set-up in our G8 CST. I know that we usually don’t do audio in our cars, besides the Cobalt, but this year both Gene’s Fit and the G8 CST will be equipped with some pretty cool audio and video stuff. Adam and the guys at Unique made the custom sub box located in the rear deck section that will house the two Focal subs, and a custom amp rack in the trunk that will house the Focal amps. As an added bonus Adam custom mounted a Visteon Navigation head-unit in the glove box.
Here are a few pics of phase one of the Focal audio set-up. I will have completed pictures in a few days when the audio video is completed in the G8 CST.
Just got the November 2008 issue of Banzai magazine, and inside is a killer 4 page spread on the Tjin Edition / Team Koshak Scion xD. Check out the wicked layout and photos of the convertible Scion xD that belongs to Jim Koshak, that the guys at Unique built last year for the Scion competition at SEMA. Gene shot the photos for Banzai and they are nothing less then breath taking. The issue comes out later this week, so pick up your issue at your local book store.

Mei and Collin’s 2009 Tjin Edition Audi A4 Avant.
I just got a Email from someone who spotted our Tjin Edition / Mobil 1 G8 CST at a local gas station, and then heading south bond on the 5-freeway heading back to Unique. They took some pics with their camera phone and Emailed them to me. If you look closely you can see Gene driving. The guys at Unique just finished wrapping up the final details on the Tjin Edition / Mobil 1 G8 CST and the car was just picked up by GM’s transportation. WTF? A No-Door VW Bug
This past weekend I stopped by the 7-11 to get a Slurpee and check out what I saw in a parking spot. Yep, that is a No-door old school VW Bug. At first I didn’t even notice what the heck I was looking at, but the closer I looked the more confused I was. Check out the photo and decide for yourself WTF is going on!

This would be a nice replacement for my current R34 sedan.

My Boy
I got the major hook up today from Anthony at Tustin Pontiac. He helped us out by letting us switch out the black, Altezza looking G8 GT tailights, with the much cooler, much cleaner all red regular G8 taillights. Some people might say “why go with the regular G8 taillights compared to the GT ones”, and to those people I say the black ones are terrible and the red ones are much nicer and flow way better with the theme of our G8. Or I can just lie and say that the red taillights match the red Corvette Z06 calipers and our interior.

We at Theory Communication and Design (www.theoryconcept.com) have teamed up with one of the top industry icons, to build a one of a kind Porsche 996 Turbo on behalf of Mobil 1. Vincent Wong, from iForged wheels, is no stranger to building high profile SEMA cars and this year he has taken things to a whole new level. Wong has worked closely with Theory over the past several months to build the perfect vehicle for the Mobil 1 SEMA booth.
Wong, the owner of iForged Wheels, shared with us the reasoning on why he built this Porsche the way he did. “I have strived to take one of the best engineered cars from Porsche and add my personal touch to it. I have always believed in building a car following the “show and go” concept. Even though a car looks beautiful, it should also be able to back up its good looks. Every modification performed on the car has a purpose and at the end of the day I hope people will be able to appreciate the hard work and long hours that have gone into building our one of a kind creation.”

Check out what the boys at Theory Communication and Design came up with this year for the SEMA show. Last year we did several billboards around Vegas featuring the Mobil 1 Chevy Cobalt and Scion xB. This year we stepped it up big time as we will be showcasing two different style Mobil 1 billboards that we are very proud of.
One of the billboards will feature the Bulletproof Automotive Nissan R35 GT-R built by Ben and the other will be showcasing the iForged Wheels Porsche 996 Turbo built by Vince. Both of these incredible piece of machinery were built for the Mobil 1 booth and will be debuting at the SEMA show in just a few short days.
If you make it out to Vegas next week, make sure to stop by the Mobil 1 booth (#25173) to check out the GT-R and Porsche in person….and also keep an eye out for the Mobil 1 billboards that will be scattered throughout Vegas!

Our Mobil 1 / Tjin Edition Pontiac G8 CST is almost ready to debut at SEMA. Here are two really cool shots that Gene captured of the fully polished 6 and 7-spoke One Lug Wheels that we are rocking on our Mobil 1 / Tjin Edition Pontiac G8 CST. The fronts are 20×9.5″ and the rears are 20×10.5″. The one lug centers, inner and outer barrels are polished, while the hardware, center nut, and bolts are gold cadmium.

SEMA Bound – Take 2
Reliable just picked up the Tjin Edition / Mobil 1 Pontiac G8 CST. The G8 is in route to Vegas for the 2008 SEMA show. I only had the car in my possession for about 12 hours and now it is off to SEMA for a week. Then it will be displayed in the GM booth at the Red Bull Drifting event in LB, and then off to Vortech for the supercharger install. I won’t see my G8 CST back till the fist week of January, but it will be will worth the wait. SEMA, Red Bull Drift event, and a Vortech charged cooled supercharger under the hood, what more could I ask for?

New Hardware
Yesterday morning I went to a GM awards banquet at SEMA with Gene, Jesse and Jonathan. At the award our team was awarded the GM 2008 SEMA DESIGN AWARD “Best New GM Exterior” for our Tjin Edition / Mobil 1 Pontiac G8 CST. This award is chosen by the GM Design team, and has to be one of our coolest accomplishments to date.

Our Tjin Edition Pontiac G8 CST took home some pretty prestigious hardware at the 2008 SEMA show. On Wednesday our G8 CST was selected by the guys from Dunlop Tires for their “Tire and Wheel” Maxxed Out Award and on Thursday the design team from GM selected our G8 CST for their GM Design Award for GM Best New Exterior.
While at the SEMA show last week I was fortunate enough to do several interviews relating to the Tjin Edition Pontiac G8 CST.
These interviews allowed me to give love back to all the amazing sponsors that supported us on this one of a kind build.
One of my favorite interviews during the week had to be with Mike from Webasto, which took place in the General Motors booth.

Bye Bye Birdie..
After 6 years it is finally time to say bye bye to my Scion tC. This was the first project that I ever did with Scion, or any OE manufacture for that matter. This car was originally painted red and featured on hundreds of Nationwide billboards for Scion. For version 2.0 we redid the Scion in a custom Sky Blue color, gutted the interior, outfitted it with a TRD supercharger and then it ended up on the S3 Magazine cover. After touring with Scion for the past 3 years, the time has finally come for the Tjin Edition tC to meet its maker…THE CRUSHER! Before the tC see’s its last ray of sunlight, we pulled off all of our parts including the custom 19″ HRE 540 wheels, Wilwood big brakes, Status Racing seats, ID-Tuning harness bar, TRD supercharger, and BIC front mount intercooler. R.I.P Tjin Edition Scion tC!

There She Blows…
As many of you know we dropped off the Tjin Edition Pontiac G8 GT at Vortech after the Red Bull event last month. The guys at Vortech are working on the prototype supercharger install for the Pontiac G8 GT and it should be done in a few weeks. As I was going through my Emails, I got two surprise photos from our good friends over at Vortech. As you can see things are moving along nicely, and I can’t wait to drive this V8 powdered monster once it is supercharged. I will update my blog down the road once I get more photos of the Vortech supercharger installation.

Collin’s First Christmas
Today we opened lots of gifts (about 99% of them were Collin’s) and then we went to spend the day with the Carpenter family. As an added bonus we got to see the Lakers beat up on the Celtics, which meant lots of trash talking to Uncle Gene. While at the Carpenter’s, Gene went to town with his camera capturing Collin’s first Christmas. We are extremely blessed to have an amazing family and great friends. Can’t wait for next year’s Christmas when Collin is one year older and one year wiser!

Taking it back in time…

Composite Hard Tops
We just outfitted our Mobil 1 / Tjin Edition Pontiac Solstice with its new Composite Hard Top. This piece not only looks great, but fits like a glove. We had Dave Lightner from Dlight’s Customs in PA paint and install the top for us. The Composite Hard Top gives the Solstice a completely different feel, and makes it look super aggressive. We have wanted a harp top for years to complete the Mobil 1 / Tjin Edition Pontiac Solstice, and we finally got it. Dave just sent us a few photos of the car done with the hard top on. A day in the snow
This past weekend I spent a day with my family in the snow at Mount Baldy. Mei had never really seen snow before, and we really wanted to take Collin out for the experience. We had an amazing time playing in the snow and spending time with our loved one’s. And yes Gene, Mei and I all tried snowboarding for the first time, but Collin did not as he did not want to show us up. Porsche One Lug Wheels
My good friend and bossman Andy Williamson just bought as set of 20″ OLW-5 One Lug Wheels for his Porsche 996 Turbo. These massive wheels will be matched up to super stick Falken tires. Before the wheels were shipped to South Florida, the guys from One Lug called Gene to shoot some studio shots of Andy’s new wheels. Overrated, Overrated, Overrated…
That is what some tool at the Laker game kept yelling about Lebron, he must have been watching some other Lebron. Kobe is the man, but Lebron is no joke. Here are some video’s that I took at the game last night. Sorry that they aren’t 100% clear, I had to use my camera to film these video’s. Thanks to my awesome wife for the amazing seats, we had a blast! I will post up about 100 photos of our trip to the Staple Center, where we watched the Lakers beat up on the Cavs!

Lakers (Kobe) vs Cavs (Lebron)
It was actually more like Gene vs 18,899 Laker fans! Last night the wifey, Gene, Adam and I went to the Staple Center to watch the Lakers and Kobe beat up on the Cavs and Lebron (the final score was 105-88 Lakers)! We got to Staples about an hour early which was awesome cause we got to see both teams warm up, and watch the celebrities make their way into the arena. Back in September for my 26th birthday, Mei got me four tickets to the Lakers vs Cavs. As most of you know I am a huge basketball fan, and I haven’t been to a basketball game since the Bulls played the Hawks (Jordan vs Nique) back in the mid 90’s.
We are all huge Laker fans, except for Gene (who kept saying why cheer with the other thousands of Laker fans, when you can cheer against them), so this was an amazing experience and game for us to witness in person. We sat a few rows behind the Cavs bench in section 102, and all I can say is that Lebron is one monster of a dude in person, the guy is like a tank. As soon as we made our way into the arena, you could sense the excitement in the air. I had no clue that so many people wore jerseys anymore, it is 2009 in case you guys forgot. We had an incredible time from the start of warm ups, to watching the player introductions, to watching Lebron throw powder in the air, to watching Lebron dunk on Lamar, to watching Kobe D-up on Lebron, to watching Kobe’s 4th quarter magic, to watching Gene and Adam drunk (or as Gene says tipsy) and waving at the Laker cheerleaders.
I had an amazing time at the game with Mei, Gene and Adam and next time I am definitely taking Collin with us to experience the madness. He already has his #24 Kobe jersey, so he will be ready to rock and roll.

As you guys I am a huge basketball fan and there is nothing better then seeing a monster dunk. Here are four of the best dunks I have ever seen. F4 Challenge Awards
Andy Goodman from the F4 Challenge just sent me photos of their new 2009 F4 Challenge Awards.
Goodman told us “Say goodbye to the big, over the top 6ft plastic trophies. Gone are the days of taking apart your trophies and saving just the plaques. No more needing to fill your room with plastic hardware. It is time for the competitors to start collecting the brand new F4 Challenge Awards. Including the F4 Challenge Diamond Award, Amateur Award, Experience Award, and Team / Club Award.”
He told us that the F4 Challenge season is about to kick off in a few short weeks, so we will see who will be the first competitor to collect a F4 Challenge Diamond Award.

I remember way back when…
Back in the day when I had my orange 240. I was going through some of my old pics and I ran across photos from the 2004 SEMA IAS shows. Back in May of 2004 at the IAS East Coast show (Atlantic City, NJ) my 240 was parked in the Toyo Tires booth and at the April 2004 West Coast IAS show (Los Angels, CA) the 240 was parked in the Buckaroo booth. How things have drastically changed over the past six years.

For this latest Tjin Edition project we teamed up with our good friends over at TSW Wheels. Back in 1996 my first car, an Eagle Vision could be seeing rolling around the streets of South Florida on a set of 17″ TSW Stealths. For those of you who aren’t familiar with TSW Stealths, check out the attached photo in this post. Fast forward to 2009 and TSW has come out with their latest wheel, the Londrina. We got a set of 19″ TSW Londrina’s featuring gunmetal faces and mirror cut lips. These 19″ TSW’s will be matched up to 245/35/19 Dunlop tires, and the Audi’s suspension will be upgrade with Eibach springs. Finishing off this project for now will be a pair of Magnaflow exhaust tips.

Our Audi A4 Avant wheels and tires arrived and they look great. We got one of TSW’s newest wheels called the Londrina’s and they are going to be matched up to 245/35/19 Dunlop Tires. Making an impression
In the February issue of SEMA News Magazine they did a story called “The Vehicles That Will Affect Your Business. Cars and Trucks That Caught the Press’ Eyes at the 2008 SEMA Show”. The Tjin Edition Pontiac G8 GT was chosen as one of those vehicles by the editorial staff of Consumer Reports. As we all know there are thousands upon thousands of cars at the SEMA show, most debuting there for the first time, so it is a huge accomplishment and honor that Tjin Edition Pontiac G8 GT to be chosen as car that caught the press’ eye.

To add some life to our G8 we teamed up with Anatoliy and the guys from Light Wurkz . We have been wanting to team up with them for some time, but timing has always been a issue. We finally got time this off season to send them some of our lights, and man am I glad to be working with these guys. They do some sick work, and are hella talented. Check out the teaser pics Anatoliy sent me tonight of the G8 taillights. They totally customized the G8 taillights for us and added their LED touch to make these lights truly one-off. Great work guys and can’t wait to see these lights in person…and I am super stoked to see what you guys came up with for our G35 headlights.

Light Wurkz magic
A few days ago I posted some teaser pics of our made over G8 taillights. The guys from Light Wurkz just sent me some updated pics of both taillights completed. I will have the lights back in my possession in a few days, and will post pics of the new LED taillights installed on the car once I get it back from Vortech. I can’t wait to see what they do with the G35 headlights we sent them…these guys do some amazing work!

The guys at Unique Fabrication built this custom all metal bed for us more then two years ago, and Dave Lightner from Dlight Custom laid down some paint for us this weekend. With the 2009 Tjin Edition Tour about to kick off, it is time for us to remove the old trailer graphics and lay down the new 2009 graphics. Gene has been working around the clock for the past several weeks coming up with a bitching design, and he is just about done with the new graphics. The guys from Kevin Quirk Custom Signs are removing the old graphics, printing the new graphics, and installing them as well. Baby Collin’s Dedication
This past weekend Mei and I dedicated Collin Samuel Tjin to the Lord. We are incredibly blessed and had a great time with our family and friends that came out to this special occasion for Collin. Sitting front and center were Uncle Gene and Kim, Auntie Mei (#3), Uncle Ron, Cousin Dylan and Ryan, Uncle Awesome (Adam), Hayley, Hunter, Brian, Amber, Ian, Letty, Michael, Mike, Amy, Jim, Elaine, May, Chung-Li, Michael, Mary, and Lilie and her family. The GlowShift Presents Tjin Edition Tour is starting off the year at the Tunerwars event this weekend. On display in the booth is the Tjin Edition Skyline, Cobalt SS, Dave’s (tour driver) Challenger and a NISMO 350z. Here is a pic that Dave sent me of the booth during set-up.

Detroit Autorama
The Tjin Edition Tour presented by GlowShift Gauges made its second tour stop in Detroit this past weekend. We experienced the Detroit Autorama last year, and this year was even more insane. We had our rig on display in a massive 80×30 booth along with our 4-door Skyline R34, our Chevy Cobalt SS and the GlowShift Acura Integra. Gene, Adam and myself flew out for the show to help set-up and run the booth, and to check out the Ridler competition. Rix Magazine just released their latest issue and on this months cover is the Tjin Edition Nissan Skyline R34 Sedan. Here is a sneak peek of the cover. I will put up the feature shortly.
Big ups to Sean from Status Racing for getting these custom black and red diamond stitched Status Racing seats done for our G8. These custom Status Racing seats sport carbon fiber backs, and fine details like the all black Status Racing logo, and red double stitched accents. These seats match the rest of the G8 perfectly, and add some flavor to the interior. These new seats will be in the G8 this weekend while its on display at the Goodguys event in Costa Mesa and for the remainder of the Tjin Edition Tour presented by GlowShift Gauges. I will post pictures once Adam from Unique finishes the install.

time to move on…
A few months ago we put the Tjin Edition Cobalt SS for sale, but we ended up not selling it as we need it for the first three shows for this years tour. The first three shows have come and gone and the G8 is now on the rig, so we are finally ready to part ways with our Cobalt SS. We will take $18,500 for the car as is, with all the goodies including the custom One Lug Wheels, full suede interior, audio video, and so forth. The car still has less then 1,700 miles, and less then 50 miles on the new wheel and tire package. If anyone is interested just email me at neil@tjinedition.com and just a heads up the Cobalt is still currently located in Duncannon PA (about an hour west of Philly).
